There’s no clear roadmap in a leader’s development – only moments that challenge and change us. For over two decades, Dr. John Rensink has dedicated his career to helping leaders navigate those moments with confidence, clarity, and purpose.
An educator, executive coach, and scholar, John has spent his career at the intersection of leadership development and organizational change. He has partnered with Fortune 100 companies, universities, and nonprofits to design and lead programs that strengthen leadership, build trust, and accelerate collaboration. His work has guided executives, educators, physicians, and entrepreneurs through the challenges of growth and change.
Before founding Momentum, John served as Senior Director of the Bright Initiative at The Ohio State University, where he was one of the principal architects of the award-winning Bright Fellowship – a nationally recognized leadership program that helped rising leaders deepen self-awareness, expand influence, and drive meaningful impact. Earlier in his career, he led the team that elevated Ohio State’s Executive MBA program to a top-ten global ranking by The Financial Times.
John holds a Doctorate in Management from Case Western Reserve University, a Master’s in Higher Education Leadership from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor’s in Literature and Composition from The Ohio State University.

Driven by an innate desire to improve things and create impact for good, John founded Momentum to help leaders move forward – not just in their careers, but in their capacity to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
He is a fierce advocate and an ally for inclusion and equity, a voracious reader, and loves to laugh. He is defined by his insatiable curiosity and desire to help others. He is a proud husband and father of two wonderful boys.
